Speaking at IBM Connect - about IBM Mobile Connect

Dec 07, 2012
3 minutes

It’s confirmed: I’ll be speaking at the Lotusphere track at IBM Connect 2013 in Orlando. Two times. About IBM Mobile Connect (formerly known as Lotus Mobile Connect).

That will be my second time as a speaker as a full session speaker at Lotusphere/IBM Connect. I’m very excited about being honored to speak at this excellent event again. And I’m looking forward to the amount of work for finishing the presentations within three weeks…Here’s with whom and what about I’ll be speaking.

Best Practice Track** **Infrastructure Fitness and Design Simplicity for IBM Mobile Connect

Most companies are unaware of IBM Mobile Connect - the hidden authentication jewel in the IBM Collaboration portfolio. No matter if you want to start with it or if you’ve learned in last year’s conference how to setup IBM Mobile Connect - it’s now time for optimization and tuning. This session will provide you a deep dive on different installation considerations and deployment design. Join to get real-world information about topics like how to install IMC on Linux 64bit, specific problems of different operating systems and how to setup IMC in High Availability. Last but not least we’ll introduce to you the new capabilities of IMC 6.1.5 which enable it to be used with Sametime Mobile, Connections Mobile and Traveler High Availability.

My partner for this session will be the awesome William Malchisky jr. (the Linux guy), http://www.billmal.com.

Show’N’Tell Track** **Making Traveler Highly available - Part 2 Extending and Securing The Network

If you followed Part 1, you now have IBM Notes Traveler running in a highly available mode. But what about the other points of failure? In this session, René and Detlev will show you how to place either IBM Mobile Connect or the IBM Websphere Edge server in front of your Traveler environment. These two IBM products bring different approaches to implementing a highly available environment - once you understand what they do, you’ll be able to select the best fit for your business. This session is intended to introduce you to networking concepts and tools that will enable you to design a complete, resilient and highly available Traveler environment for your organization.

Here I’m teaming up with my colleague Detlev Pöttgen (creator of the OpenNTF project “Snippets”, http://www.netzgoetter.de). And if you’re wondering what Part 1 will be…just ask the Curious Mitch aka Mitch Cohen (http://www.curiousmitch.com) and Chris Whisonant (the Lotus Nut, http://www.bleedyellow.com/blogs/lotusnut/?lang=en_us). They’ll probably tell you, ;-)

See you all in Orlando…just 51 days to go!
